First of all we’d like to take the opportunity to thank you all for a great summer of festivals. The seasons are now changing and this means a number of things: The temperature’s dropping, the long, bright days are disappearing fast and Saybia’s hitting the road for the Autumn Tour.

It is now 7 years ago that Chapter One of the Saybia Adventure began with the signing of an EMI record deal and the release of our first EP. Since then we have released three albums and had a multitude of fabulous adventures on the road. Music has taken us to places all over the world; we’ve criss-crossed Denmark, played in Norway, Sweden, Finland, The Faroe Islands, Greenland, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, England, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Canada, the US, Japan and China. It has been an epic rock adventure with all that this entails.

We now feel we’ve reached the end of the Second Chapter in our Saybia book and that, in order to write Chapter Three, we will need to put the book away for a period of time and turn our attention to other things. In other words: This will be our last tour for a little while. This break will do the band good and give us the strength to return even stronger when the time is ready.

We owe all of you a large and massive thank you for all of your support during the past seven years and we are very much looking forward to seeing you all out there to do what we do best: Taking you all on another journey into our musical universe.

 

New single "Eyes on the highway" has made it onto Tjeklisten at #20 thanks to the votes recieved from you!

It's an ongoing battle so all votes will be much appreciated here (in Danish), but act fast as votes are only accepted between Sunday at 1PM till Thuesday at 1PM.

 

The 3rd radiosingle off the "Eyes On The Highway" album has just been shipped out to all of the radiostations, and this time it's the titletrack (EOTH) that has been chosen to represent the album, the song is described by the band as the perfect soundtrack for a cruise in a VW-bus on a hot summers day, in contrast to the lyrics that is about the feeling of being a passenger in a car going way too fast, not knowing where you are going, and getting no answers when asking the man behind the wheel.

The concert at the Tivoli Gardens on June 27th will be yet another milestone in the musical career of SAYBIA, as the band will be joined on stage by a stringsection of 22 members from the highly acclaimed Tivoli Symphony Orchestra.

The Tivoli Gardens itself dates al the way back to 1843, and is said to have been the inspiration of the Danish poet H. C. Andersen's fairytale "The Nightingale". Don't miss out on this very special outdoor show right in the heart of Copenhagen.

The Danish city of Odense has been chosen as Official Unicef City for 2008, so it was also a natural choice of venue for the Unicef Open Air concert held on June 21st, featuring 80's icons Duran Duran as headlines and SAYBIA and fellow Danish band Zididada as supports.

All profits will be donated to Unicef as relief to both China and Myanmar who was recently hit by devastating natural disasters.

This video was shot in the fall of 2007, but has been withheld untill now, due to the tragedy that struck the family of leadsinger Søren Huss in mid December (Sørens daughter Ronja are now fully recovered).

A former militarybase in Paris set the chilling location for this video, shot by French director Vincent Hazard, who also did the video for "Bend The Rules", and based on ideas and thoughts of the band.

So what is "On Her Behalf" about? The answer is simple, yet complicated: Faith! Not religion, but Faith! The fact that humans will force their own convictions onto others, without regards to the costs of life in the process. That being holy wars, a democracy at war, and all the way down to the bare basics fo fatherhood.

To be born with a book of blank pages in your hand, to be given the opportunity to relate and learn throughout a lifetime, by taking a stand or by being convinced by a stranger or friends vision on life.

June 27th will mark the date of a grand 4th time for SAYBIA to play at the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark!

An LP edition of "Eyes On The Highway" has just been released, and as with the previous LPs, an effort has been made to make this something special!

The 180 gram vinyl is packaged in a cover featuring the artwork seen on the CD-release, but it is also contains a 24 page booklet with an "installation" for each song, this truly special booklet has been made by Danish artist Louise Jensen, who also did the original artworks for "Eyes On The Highway", and just 700 copies has been made, mainly to be sold in Denmark, but a small selection will also be sold at the shows on the coming tour.

A funny piece of trivia about this LP is that the covers got glued together and packed, by inmates of the Nyborg State Penitentiary! A prison located in the town that SAYBIA originally comes from. This has happened by pure coincidence as the prison was the place used by the manufacturer of the cover.

Hello Saybians and Friends!

We just want to send a thank you to all the lovely people who supported us last thursday at the VEGA showcase, and the way you all embraced our new songs. It was great to see you guys again and we enjoyed it very very much!

We are at the moment putting the FINAL touch to the new album and expect it to be finished this week!;) We have also done a video for Angel since we wrote you last time and it will be possible for you all to see it online here at SAYBIA.COM from friday the 29th of June.

First of all, are you signed up with your current e-mailaddress? Try signing up again (bottom-right corner of the frontpage), then you will get this message if you are signed up: Apparently you're already registered with this email address!.

Did your spamfilter catch the newsmail? All e-mail accounts or systems today has got some kind of spamfilter, to make sure that you don't get swamped with unsolicited e-mails. The filter will either delete the e-mails or direct them to a spambox or thrashcan.

Most spamfilters will allow you to define which mails are safe, and this is where you can make sure that all @saybia.com e-mails are directed to your inbox rather than getting deleted, please consult your manual, helpdesk or local nerd to set up your spamfilter.

The tickets for the DFDS Seaways Rockcruise has gone on sale. Remember that there is only 180 tickets available for this show, so you have to act fast if you want to be part of this very special gig.

The very first single from the forthcoming 3rd studio album has now been uploaded to www.myspace.com/saybia The song is entitled "Angel" and it will hit the radiostations this monday, which is also when it will be available for purchace at Itunes.

Stay tuned to www.saybia.com to find out when and where you can buy this track as a CD single.

Oh, and let's not forget that the full album will be released on August 27th!

On june 21st the band will be playing new songs from the upcoming album at an "Invites only" gig at Vega in Copenhagen. In order for everybody to have a fair chance of attending this gig, we will be giving away tickets early next week.   All you have to do is to sign up for our mailinglist (Bottom-right corner of this page) no later than monday, then.. sooner or later, we will mail you all the instructions on how you might be the lucky one to score a couple of tickets.   Stay sharp, stay alert, blink and you'll miss it! :-)

The buzz has been going round for a while, will Saybia play at the Lowlands festival?

Yes they will! This August Saybia will be returning to Holland yet again to play a show at the Lowlands Festival, tickets are already on sale so go to www.lowlands.nl to find a ticketoutlet near you.

We have finished the recordings of our third album! We are now preparing the mixsessions and we are all very excited and pleased with the results and are looking so much forward to be sharing our music with all of you Saybians out there and the rest of the world.. As a result of us not being very generous with leaking information concerning our whereabouts, we have decided to invite you all inside our house and music-lab, located south of Copenhagen, Denmark.

There is a clear blue sky above the roof of the studio, and the sun illuminates our minds as our third album is coming to life.
